ClubGRANTS Funding

Supporting the community is fundamental to the C.ex Group’s core business. We believe in serving the needs of the community via both monetary and in-kind support, together with connecting our community by increasing the awareness of local organisations and assistance services.

Here at the C.ex Group we are proud of our community contributions over the last 50 years and were formally recognised in 2012 winning the prestigious ClubsNSW Award for Excellence.

The C.ex Group supports many worthy community groups, charity and sporting organisations through the ClubGRANTS (formally CDSE) Scheme. In 2015, the C.ex Group donated in excess of half a million dollars to over 100 community organisations across the Coffs Coast.

Applicants seeking funding from the C.ex Group are advised to carefully read the ClubGRANTS Guidelines to determine whether your project is eligible for funding. As the processing of all applications can take up to 5 weeks, please plan ahead with your applications.

Application Process

ClubGRANTS Application Process

For organisations or community groups seeking sponsorship for an event or community initiative please proceed to the online application form. If you require assistance with the administrative costs associated with your function, the first step is to obtain a quote and discuss dates and room availability with our Functions Team on (02) 6652 3888 or at functions@cex.com.au.

All Intra-Clubs need to apply using the Category 2 application form.

ClubGRANTS funding is available under three separate categories, please identify which category is most appropriate to your request before completing a submission:

Category 1:

Eligible Category 1 expenditure is for projects and/or services that contribute to the welfare and broader social fabric of the local community, and are aimed at improving the living standards of low income and disadvantaged people. This includes:

  • Community welfare and social services eg. Aged, disability or youth services; counselling services; child care and child protection services
  • Community development eg. Community education programs; youth drop-in facilities; neighbourhood centre activities
  • Community health services eg. Early childhood health; drug and alcohol services; palliative care; mental health care
  • Employment assistance activities eg. Employment placement services; group training

Category 2:
Eligible Category 2 expenditure is that expenditure allocated to community development and support activities and projects not listed under Category 1, as well as expenditure allocated to the club’s core services (such as sport, returned servicemen’s league, sporting ground maintenance).

Category 2 expenditure is also available to support tourism promotion, as well as for not-for-profit cultural activities and visual / performing arts.

Out of Scope – In Kind:
In Kind funding is available where non-monetary support is being requested such as gift vouchers or the donation of goods. Room Waivers are not available as an In Kind Grant. Any of the community groups identified as being eligible for either Category 1 or Category 2 grants are eligible for to apply for a In Kind Grant.

ClubGRANTS reporting requirements

A legislative requirement to be fulfilled by all organisations receiving ClubGRANTS assistance from registered clubs is that a club must request funding recipients to provide a report on how the funds were applied and whether the use of funds has varied from the purpose stated in the original application.
If a report is not received from a funding recipient, the ClubGRANTS Guidelines require that the club should not consider any additional funding for that organisation (except in exceptional circumstances).

Forms for completion will be sent to you if your application is approved, once the grants has been issued to you / your organisation.

  • The 2017 Harmony in Health Expo is being celebrated at C.ex Coffs today, aiming to promote social inclusion and improve health and well-being for our multicultural community members. Thanks to all event partners and exhibitors, it is fantastic to see such a great turnout!

  • We were fortunate enough to attend the Coffs Harbour Swimming Club Championships on Friday night, and managed to stay relatively dry! The Club, being one of the largest and most active swimming clubs on the North Coast do a fantastic job in helping locals advance further in the sport of swimming. We are proud to be the major sponsor of the club, assisting them in attracting carnivals and championships to our local region and supporting local swimmers to compete as professional athletes at national and international levels.
