Who are we helping
100% of funds raised for the C.ex Community Crew Sleep Out will be distributed between the three following charities:
The Men’s Resource Centre is focused on creating a safe and nurturing environment for men and their families by offering advocacy, counselling and programs.
Their aim is to provide a first point of contact for men and their families in the Coffs Harbour Mid North Coast Region who find themselves in a position of need. They offer men and their families access to a variety of services, courses and personnel. This access provides a firm foundation for men and their families to regroup and overcome their individual obstacles.
The Homes for Heroes program, founded by RSL LifeCare is a contemporary Veterans Homelessness and Assistance Program. The program is available to veterans of contemporary conflicts, ex-service men and women post 1991 and the families of these cohorts. The service provides accommodation to veterans and families for both short term and permanent tenures. There is no other dedicated homeless accommodation for Australian Veterans.
Warrina Women & Children’s Refuge Cooperative
Warrina Women and Children’s Refuge Cooperative provides services to women and women with children experiencing domestic and family violence who are at risk of homelessness. They provide safe, supportive and confidential options for women and children, that includes supported crisis accommodation and access to transitional housing. On site at the refuge, they have specialist child and family staff to work closely with children affected by violence. Located close to the city centre Warrina also have a Women’s Resource and Information centre. Here, women are able to access counselling, group work and referrals to other agencies to assist them to regain control of their lives.
